Does my age, pre-existing medical condition or sexual orientation prevent me from being a donor?
No. Anyone can register to be a donor regardless of age or medical history. The transplant team will determine at the time of death what can be donated.
Financial Concerns
Is there a cost to the donor's family for donation?

Family & Social Issues
Why is it important to ensure your family is aware of your decision to donate?
It's important to share your decision with your family so they are aware of your wishes. While donation can proceed with proper documentation regardless of family consent, having your family's support can make the process smoother during a difficult time.
Can my family override my decision to donate?
Your decision to be a donor is legally binding in Mississippi. Donation professionals will work with your family to honor your decision to donate.
