Job Opening: MORA Seeks Referral Intake Coordinator

The Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency (MORA) is an innovative center of excellence that maximizes the gift of organ, eye, and tissue donation. MORA provides an excellent financial compensation package that includes great benefits. We are searching for a Referral Intake Coordinator to work as a vital member of the healthcare team. The applicant will collect the appropriate level of medical information to aide in donor eligibility evaluation for organ, eye and tissue donation and distribute the clinical information to the appropriate personnel for follow up. The applicant should possess experience working with a hospital/medical center, an EMT or paramedic, or equivalent work experience. Must have excellent communication skills, strong typing skills, and exhibit outstanding customer service. Proficiency with MS office and use of telephonic systems is a must. This position requires an excellent proficiency in communicating with medical personnel/hospital systems and protocols to ensure all donor potential is maximized. Drug testing and background check performed prior to hire.  Starting salary is based upon experience; great benefits offered.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures documentation is completed in accordance with MORA and regulatory standards.
  • Possesses strong decision-making capabilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized and resourceful, with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrates discretion, maturity, and professionalism in all points of contact.
  • Responds to all incoming calls/emails to triage referrals for organ/tissue donor evaluation.
  • Communicates and provides critical medical screening information to other MORA departments, processors and agencies, as appropriate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree, EMT, LPN or equivalent in an allied health field.
  • Prior referral screening experience preferred.
  • Must have a strong typing skills, detail-oriented and able to provide accuracy in documentation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and use of a telephone system.
  • Must be able to simultaneously perform multiple complex processes and prioritize tasks to optimize workflow to ensure compliance with established policies and timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
