JOB OPENING- Record Review Coordinator

MORA is an innovative center of excellence that maximizes the gift of organ, eye, and tissue donation.  MORA provides an excellent financial compensation package that includes great benefits.  We are searching for a Record Review Coordinator to join our team.  The applicant will collect the appropriate level of information from medical records for the purpose of determining donor potential and assessing performance and identifying areas for improvement.  The applicant should possess experience working with a hospital records, utilization review or similar healthcare experience with familiarity of medical records and medical terminology. Must have excellent communication skills, strong typing skills, and exhibit outstanding customer service.  This job requires a high degree of autonomy in a self-directed manner and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifies and develops relationships with key hospital medical records staff.
• Schedules and conducts retrospective record reviews.
• Collects, analyzes and reports record review information from individual hospitals within established timelines.
• Ensures accuracy in data collection, data entry, and data analysis.
• Works independently, as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Practices a high degree of autonomy in a self-directed manner, demonstrating innovation and creativity in problem solving, sound critical analysis and judgment.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient and donor/recipient information.
• Demonstrates discretion, maturity, and professionalism in all points of contact.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Associate’s degree in health related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of diseases and medical terminology is required.
• Experience with hospital records strongly preferred, such as experience in the area of Health Information Management, health research and data analysis, utilization review, or similar healthcare experience with familiarity of medical records and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software, including but not limited to, Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook – Intermediate to Advanced skills) required. Strong word processing, database and presentation software skills. Ability to perform data entry and audit.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
