Take Part in National Donate Life Month

March 25, 2021

MORA will be again be taking a “virtual” approach for April’s National Donate Life Month (NDLM) celebration. Based on the positive feedback from the community regarding the 2020 theme and in light of the impact of COVID-19, Donate Life America (DLA) chose to continue with the “Garden of Life” theme for National Donate Life Month 2021. DLA was inspired by the springtime scene of a garden. A garden and the insects within it serve as symbols of hope, courage and transformed life — themes repeatedly found within the donation and transplantation journey.

Follow along with us on social @donatelifems as we promote NDLM and provide opportunities and activities for you to participate in to champion the Donate Life mission and help raise awareness for organ, eye, and tissue donation. Here are a few virtual and at-home ideas!

New this year: Blue and Green Spirit Week (April 10-16)! Each day of the week leading up to National Blue & Green Day is dedicated to a special theme, and will include: recognizing donors, volunteers and healthcare heroes; giving hope to those waiting; and engaging the public in fun at-home activities. Below is the schedule for spirit week:

April 10– Join us in thanking and recognizing all of our advocates including our Donate Life volunteers, transplant recipients, and donor families! If you’re a Donate Life advocate share why you promote the Donate Life mission! We’ll post a “thank you” graphic on April 10 for you to share.
April 11– Help increase awareness for donation and transplantation and NDLM month by sharing any of the NDLM graphics! We’ll share one on April 11 that you can share on your platforms as well!
April 12– Join us in promoting our virtual Racing for Donation! We’re inviting our community to participate individually or as a team. Please share our Racing for Donation graphic and if you’re planning to participate include whom you are walking/running for!
April 13– We encourage you to share the theme and meaning behind this year’s NDLM by capturing and sharing any spring time scene!
April 14– Please join us in thanking our dedicated healthcare heroes who work to make donation and transplantation a reality for those waiting. We’ll share a graphic that you may share or we encourage you to get creative with your thank you message and tag us!
April 15– Are you a registered organ, eye, and tissue donor? Let your followers know! Share your status and why it’s important to register. You can encourage others to register at msora.org.
April 16– Celebrate Blue and Green Day! We encourage you to dress up in blue and green or create any blue and green scene to share on social media and tag us!
