Please fill out the form to register as an organ and tissue donor. By registering as a donor you consent to donate your organs and tissues at the time of your death. Organs and tissues will be recovered for the purpose of transplantation, however, in the event a donated organ or tissue cannot be used for transplant, an effort will be made to use the donation for research.

The Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency (MORA) is relaunching its “Yes You Should” campaign to encourage more Mississippians to join the organ donor registry. Prominent community leaders are supporting the effort to increase organ donation awareness across the state. The following well-known Mississippians lent their voices to help us spread this important message about the need for more registered organ donors:
Other local influencers, such as Mississippi State Department of Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Justin Turner and news anchor Maggie Wade, continue to spread the word.
August, National Multiethnic Donation Awareness Month, highlights a critical need: nearly 70% of Mississippians waiting for lifesaving organ transplants are Black, including 90% of those waiting for kidneys. Higher rates of heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes contribute to this disparity. Donors of the same ethnicity are more likely to provide compatible matches, improving transplant success rates.
“Of course, we need everyone regardless of age, race, or ethnicity to register as a donor, but the lack of diversity in the donor registry is impacting well over half of patients waiting on a transplant here at home. Many of us know someone who is waiting on a lifesaving kidney or other organ. It’s crucial that we help our neighbors by sharing facts instead of harmful myths, having those uncomfortable conversations, and registering as organ and tissue donors,” said Belinda Lane, one of four Community Outreach Coordinators who travel the state sharing about donation for MORA.
With over 1,300 Mississippians and 100,000 Americans in need of transplants, registering as an organ donor can make a lifesaving difference. One donor can save up to eight lives and improve over 75 others. Register online in less than two minutes at YesYouShould.org.
