MORA Hospital Development Department
The Hospital Development department at Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency (MORA) collaborates with hospitals across our service area to enhance understanding of organ and tissue donation and its critical role in saving and improving lives.
The Department’s primary focus is educating healthcare professionals on best practices throughout the donation process—from identifying potential donors at the right time to ensuring proper medical maintenance for donation viability. By fostering a collaborative approach, we strive to make the donation process not only understood but fully embraced. This helps ensure that every family is given the opportunity to consider donation and that each potential gift of life is realized.
For more information about partnering with MORA, please contact our Hospital Development department to be connected with the coordinator assigned to your hospital.

Coroners and Funeral Homes
MORA collaborates with funeral directors, coroners, and medical examiners to honor the wishes of the deceased and bring a second chance at life to the thousands of individuals nationwide awaiting life-saving organ, eye, and tissue transplants. While our primary role is to support donor families throughout the donation process and beyond, we are honored to work alongside coroners and funeral homes across Mississippi. Together, we strive to foster a culture of donation within the communities we serve, ensuring that every opportunity to give the gift of life is realized.

Spero Awards
The word Spero is Latin for “hope.” The title was chosen to reflect the hope that organ, eye, and tissue donation brings to those needing a life-saving organ or a life-improving tissue transplant. The Spero Awards recognize hospital partners, medical professionals, corporate partners, and donor advocates who work with MORA and the Advancing Sight Network to promote organ, eye, and tissue donation to save and heal lives. This is done on a quarterly basis.
