Please fill out the form to register as an organ and tissue donor. By registering as a donor you consent to donate your organs and tissues at the time of your death. Organs and tissues will be recovered for the purpose of transplantation, however, in the event a donated organ or tissue cannot be used for transplant, an effort will be made to use the donation for research.
The Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency promotes the need for organ, eye, and tissue donation year-round across the state. If you are looking for a speaker or us to attend a future event, fill out the Outreach Activity Form below, and we will get back to you soon!
We are excited to host this event for a second year and invite anyone who has been touched by donation or wants to learn more to attend. Please make plans to join us at this black-tie event on the evening of Thursday, February 20, 2025, at The Two Museums in Jackson. Get your tickets here: https://msora.org/join-us/

Racing for Donation is a 5k/8k Run/Walk to bring awareness to the need for organ, eye, and tissue donation. It’s held annually during Donate Life Month in April. Our next race is scheduled for April 12, 2025, at The District at Eastover in Jackson. Registration will open soon!
The word Spero is Latin for “hope.” The title was chosen to reflect the hope that organ, eye, and tissue donation brings to those needing a life-saving organ or a life-improving tissue transplant. The Spero Awards recognize hospital partners, medical professionals, corporate partners, and donor advocates who work with MORA and the Mississippi Lions Eye Bank (MLEB) to promote organ, eye, and tissue donation to save and heal lives. This is done on a quarterly basis.
National Donor Day is a time to focus on all types of donation – organ, eye, tissue, blood, platelets, and marrow – by participating in blood/marrow drives or donor registration events. It is also a day to recognize our loved ones who have given the gift of donation, have received a donation, are currently waiting, or did not receive an organ in time.
National Donate Life Month (NDLM) features an entire month of local, regional, and national activities to help encourage Americans to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors and to celebrate those who have saved lives through the gift of donation.
The public is encouraged to wear blue and green, hold events and fundraisers, and partner with local restaurants, malls, media, and community organizations in an effort to spread awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation.
National Multicultural Donor Awareness Month is a collaborative initiative of Donate Life America (DLA), Association for Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation (AMAT), Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), National Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program (MOTTEP) and National Kidney Foundation (NKF) to save and improve the quality of life for diverse communities by creating a positive culture for organ, eye, and tissue donation. Outreach activities during this month include events to provide donation education, encourage donor registration and promote healthy living and disease prevention to decrease the need for transplantation.
The first annual National DMV Appreciation Week took place in 2016. Donate Life Mississippi’s partnership with our MS Department of Public Saftey Driver Service Bureaus remains the primary source of donor registrations. They are the people on the front lines of service who have helped register more than 130 million donors–over 1.2 million in Mississippi. DMV Appreciation Week is a time for the Donate Life Community to say thank you and show its appreciation of our DPS Customer Service Reps across the state through local events and outreach.
This three-day observance seeks to include the days of worship for major religions practiced in the United States, in order for congregations to come together to learn about and celebrate donation and transplantation, and pray for those affected by it.
