Please fill out the form to register as an organ and tissue donor. By registering as a donor you consent to donate your organs and tissues at the time of your death. Organs and tissues will be recovered for the purpose of transplantation, however, in the event a donated organ or tissue cannot be used for transplant, an effort will be made to use the donation for research.

On November 28, Coasie Parker, heart recipient, and Barbara Edmond, whose son was Parker’s donor, shared their story at a Mississippi Department of Public Safety (Official) meeting in Batesville.
Parker, of Batesville, and Edmond, of Memphis, met for the first time exactly one year ago. On this very special day, they wanted to share their story with the frontline staff of Mississippi Department of Public Safety (Official).
Edmond’s son, Reginald Mercer, was the victim of a hit-and-run when he was only 25 years old. He was an artist and aspiring chef. He had signed up to be an organ donor and his mom said five organs were able to help others.
“It’s a blessing to know that somebody was willing to give a gift that they didn’t have to give,” Parker said.
