Education

Resources

Education is imperative for individuals to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare. The earlier that students are introduced to the topic of organ and tissue donation, the easier it will be for them to make an informed decision when they apply for their Driver’s Permit or License and are asked whether they would like to be an organ and tissue donor.

MORA provides a curriculum that can be adapted to suit various classes such as Drivers Education, Health & Wellness, Biology, Allied Health and others. In fact, the Mississippi Driver’s Education curriculum requires instruction relating to organ and tissue donation under the *2014 Mississippi Code Chapter 25-Driver Education and Training-37-25-5. MORA’s curriculum explains the need for organ, eye, and tissue donation, how the process works, dispels myths about the subject and also encourages students to start the conversation with their families regarding organ donation.
