Make Your Voice Heard in Support of Organ, Eye, and Tissue Donation

August 25, 2020

Dear MORA supporter,

Please join our campaign to encourage the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to address concerns with proposed metrics governing Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), which would drastically impact the organ donation process and potentially result in 75% of OPOs closing in one year.

While MORA has experienced great success and growth the last 25 years, we are part of a national donation/transplantation system that helps us maximize the number of lives saved by our donors. The decertification of up to 75% of the nation’s OPOs will destabilize that system nationally, undoubtedly leading to both lost donation opportunities and lost lives. Given that the U.S. transplants three-to-four times as many patients as any other country, we believe CMS should be seeking metrics that drive continued growth by building on an already successful system.

Here is how to TAKE ACTION:

1) For additional background on the issue, review the AOPO Metrics Talking Points.

2) Email your Member of Congress to communicate your concerns with the proposed metrics and request they contact HHS to raise these concerns. Click the TAKE ACTION button below to access a website with an interactive form to determine your local representatives and customize the email to share your connection with donation and the importance of this call to action.

Please contact Kevin Stump with any questions.
