Job Opening: Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency is seeking a Tissue Recovery Coordinator

Hours – Full Time “On Call” position with flexible nights and weekends

Education and work experience

  • Bachelors degree in life sciences or Business or Associate degree preferred.
  • Qualifications as Licensed Practical Nurse, OR/Surgical Tech, EMT, Paramedic, Mortician or an equivalent degree/diploma/certification in an allied health field with two (2) years experience is preferred.
  • Current AATB Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) OR able to sit for the exam within two (2) years. 

General Statement (Summary of duties & responsibilities):

The full time “on call” Tissue Recovery Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the tissue donation process, including referral screening, scheduling, surgical recovery and shipment of recovered tissues.  Assists with hospital development (as needed), professional and public education programming (as needed) and maintains a positive, professional liaison between Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency Tissue Services and the medical/civic community.  On-call and weekend responsibilities are required.
